Illya Kuryakin

Orphaned as an infant, Illya grew up in the Soviet education system, showing a predilection for science at a very young age. He was attending the Sorbonne when the war started and trapped him in Paris. This gave him the opportunity to throw off the shackles of his Soviet captors by fleeing to the French countryside, where he joined the Résistance. At the conclusion of the war he was befriended by an American cryptographer named Sam Marlowe, who helped him defect to America.

Millionare playboy and son of an American diplomat stationed in London during WWII, Napoleon lost his family in the Blitz, so he voluteered to serve in the RAF.
