Dramatis Personae
Illya Kuryakin
Orphaned as an infant, Illya grew up in the Soviet education system, showing a predilection for science at a very young age. He was attending the Sorbonne when the war started and trapped him in Paris. This gave him the opportunity to throw off the shackles of his Soviet captors by fleeing to the French countryside, where he joined the Résistance. At the conclusion of the war he was befriended by an American cryptographer named Sam Marlowe, who helped him defect to America.
Napoleon Solo
Millionare playboy and son of an American diplomat stationed in London during WWII, Napoleon lost his family in the Blitz, so he voluteered to serve in the RAF. With his trusty manservant Alexander, Napoleon has been wandering from one glittering social venue to the next since the war ended, searching for something to give his life meaning.
Della Chandler
Della came to Hollywood in the Twenties with dreams of becoming a star. Fate intervened in the form of a handsome cameraman who swept her off her feet, but tragedy struck and Della was left a young widow. She eked out a meager living as a studio secretary until she answered Sam's ad for a private secretary.
Sam Marlowe
A flourishing private detective in the Thirties with a knack for cryptography, Sam volunteered for service in the war. He was stationed in London for the duration, but made a postwar trip to France, where he found Illya waiting tables in a tiny Provençal town and befriended him, helping him defect to America.
Vasily Borodin
A loyal Soviet posted to the cradle of American postwar excess, Vasily's ambition makes him a cunning foe—but will his innate sense of fair play help or hinder our heroes?
Alexander Waverly
Trusted servant and sole survivor of the attack that destroyed Napoleon's family, Alexander travels the world with his young friend, hoping someday Napoleon will find the peace he so desperately needs.
Ivan Fyodor
Son of Dmitri Fyodor, renowned Russian scientist, Ivan is a famous cellist in his own right. He defected while on tour in America in the late Thirties and later found love in the arms of the woman assigned to protect him.
April Dancer
A beautiful woman with a shadowy past, April was sent to protect Ivan Fyodor from being used as a pawn in an international game of intrigue.
Effie Van Donck
Born a Russian peasant, Effie turned a stint as a Folies Bergère chorus girl into one advantageous marriage after another. Determined to help others make good, she spends her dearly departed husbands' lavish fortunes on clothes, parties and lost causes.
Mark Slate
A friend of Napoleon's from the war, Mark now works for an international intelligence organization.
Dmitri Fyodor
Widowed father of Ivan, Dmitri is a renowned physicist desperately trying to flee the tyranny of the Communist régime and rejoin his son in the new world.
