AVAILABLE ZINES
Learning to Breathe by Veronica
ZINE? COOL! HOW DO I GET ONE?
Payment is in U.S. dollars by bank transfer (NOT by credit card) through PayPal. Other arrangements can be made, but this is the fastest and most reliable. Plus it lets us send your copy out as quickly as possible, rather than waiting for your payment to clear.
Zine prices include media mail postage and delivery confirmation to anywhere in the contiguous United States. For orders to Hawaii, Alaska and outside of the U.S., please email us your city, country and postal code. We'll calculate the postage and email you the total for your order.
To order this zine, please send the following information in an email:
Your name
Your mailing address
The number of copies of the zine you wish to purchase
Your email address
Any questions you may have
Please put "S&C zine order" in the subject line. We will answer your email as quickly as possible with the total and mailing date. Orders with incomplete information will not receive a response. (However, offerings of chocolate, naked men, or chocolate-covered naked men will be given careful consideration. *g*)
OKAY, I ORDERED IT. NOW WHAT?
Zines will be printed and mailed out as we reach the threshold listed for each zine. (Basically, as soon as we reach the number of zines needed to obtain the affordable price for copies, we'll reprint them.)
As a general rule, our zines will only be available through this website. However, from time to time, friends we've blackmailed coerced strong-armed asked politely will deliver preordered copies to cons. (The price remains the same, since we still have to ship them out, capische?) We'll post a note here with the information when that happens.
One absolute about our zines is that they will never be available through a dealer. If you discover anyone who claims to have new copies of our zines available for sale, please contact us with the information so we can put a stop to it. (Reselling used copies for less than the original price is fine.)
SNUDGE AND CROODLE: OUR RAISON D'ÊTRE
(Or, WTF?)
Why are we simultaneously releasing some stories online as well as in a zine?
Well, because creativity should be evolving, a constantly moving target, a new adventure around every corner...okay, mostly because we thought it would be fun, and we're all about the fun thing. Of course, it's also part of our plan to take over the world, but that's neither here nor there. We do know that some fandoms are more zine-focused and so we thought it might be nice to give publishing a try. After this we'll move on to other media, like cable-access and reality TV. ;)
YOU DID SUCH A WONDERFUL JOB, WILL YOU PUBLISH MY UNSOLICITED LABOR OF LOVE?
No. Nein. Non. Nyet. Not in this lifetime. Never. Jamais. No one gets in to see the wizard, not no way, not no how!
But hey, good luck. :)
SO WHAT'S WITH THE NAME?
Now you're probably wondering where the heck the title came from. Well, Croodle was working on a story and said she needed another word for "nuzzle" so Snudge looked it up. Here's what Merriam-Webster's gave us:
Entry Word: nuzzle
Function: verb
Text: Synonyms SNUGGLE, burrow, ||croodle, cuddle, nestle, ||snudge, snug, ||snuzzle
Croodle's response was something along the lines of "Napoleon snudged Illya passionately and Illya croodled him back" and it just went downhill from there. *vbg*
BUT SERIOUSLY, FOLKS...
We're doing this because we love these guys, and we figure you love them, too. We're not doing this to make money; we're both adults with real jobs and aren't planning our retirement around this gig. (That's our mission statement. What do you think? *g*)
We welcome feedback of any kind, from gaping plot holes (totally Croodle's fault), to a heads up about the dropped comma on page 46 (so Snudge's fault), to compliments on paper choice (a collaborative effort; Snudge: "Do you like this color?" Croodle: claps "Pretty!"), to discussion on the use of themes from Medea in our fanfiction. (We're still not sure who to blame that on, but there was this really cute waiter and some ouzo... Oh wait, nevermind. Heh.)
